All the latest news from the music service

Welcome to the Bury Music Service blog site where we will be keeping you up to date with what the service is up to during the school shut down.

We are experiencing an unprecedented time with current school closures and we wanted to make sure that students and parents have access to quality online learning resources to continue their musical education at home.

In our resources section you will find links to our Creative Learning Pack, devised by our Curriculum Lead Tim Power and based on the BBC Ten Pieces project. This is a free interactive package for schools and home educators where students can follow interactive presentations alongside creative workbooks to engage with classical music.

The pack is centred around Edward Elgar’s Enigma Variations and the week 1 workbook is available now. We will then be releasing a new episode each week from Monday 20th April.

You will also find links to our Wider Opportunities resources with loads of songs and tracks to perform to, which can easily be adapted to work in both a home or classroom environment and used with or without an instrument.

Alongside our own resources we will be sharing online learning materials from both our Greater Manchester Music Hub partners and other carefully selected providers.

In our Performances section you will find links to our own #musicathome twitter videos alongside selected links to live performance streams and archive footage from some of the biggest names in the world of music

We really hope you enjoy exploring our blog site and we’d love to know what you think, so please do share your thoughts and experiences through our social media channels (links on the homepage) or by email to mail@burymusic.co.uk and watch this space for much more to come very soon!
